Lula Mae Pinkerton

Lula Mae Pinkerton, 81 of Elkville, passed away at 5:30 A.M., Saturday, October 18, 2003 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.
Lula was a homemaker and had worked at the Glove Factory in Carbondale, Prairie Farms Dairy in Carbondale and the Luster Plant in Murphysboro. She was a member of the Hallidayboro United Methodist Church, a fifty year member of the DeSoto Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Du Quoin VFW Auxiliary Post 513.
She was born September 30, 1922 at Elkville the daughter of William and Minnie (Halliday) Martie.
She married Homer Pinkerton on November 26, 1947 at Murphysboro, IL and he passed away September 3, 1989.
She is survived by a daughter- Sharon Clover and husband Kenneth of Elkville, brother-in-law-Charles Pinkerton and wife Jerri of Joliet, sisters-in-law-Janet Martie of Elkville, Bonnie Pinkerton of Murphysboro, Myrtle Adams of Metairie, LA, Helen Hale of Marion, Mary Pinkerton of Chicago,  three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jake Martie.
Funeral services were at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. James Barnett officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Hallidayboro Cemetery.
